Essential Requirements – Previous experience working in a family home. Traditional Housekeeping skills, family laundry, daily management of the household, grounds and garden maintenance. Duties are interchangeable. Driving licence and non-smokers essential. Dog and cat friendly.

Lovely position for an experienced domestic couple to run and manage this immaculate new build, 8-bedroom country residence for a family of 5. The children are grown up either at university or boarding school. This is the primary family home in a rural location but within an easy 5-minute commute to the local market town of Petersfield. The current couple are retiring after 4 yrs of a very happy employment.

Main duties for the housekeeper will be an excellent standard of day-to-day housekeeping, which will include washing and ironing, cleaning, (part time professional cleaners are also employed) tidying, organisation of contractors, deliveries etc. Occasional fresh healthy family cooking, shared with madam, shopping, household provisioning and overseeing the property when the family are away. The principals spend 2-3 nights per week in London, during these times you will need to stay at the property for security and care of the pets.

Partner will be responsible for garden maintenance, as there are approx. 15 acres of grounds, made up of pasture, fields and 2 acres of landscaped, easy to maintain gardens with large areas of lawns and flower beds. There will eventually be a swimming pool and tennis court to maintain, so a good practical person with good DIY skills essential.
In addition, there will be occasional driving duties for errands, airport runs, care of the cars and general maintenance of the property.

The family have a dog and 3 cats, so animal lovers are essential. Willingness to walk the dog and care for the pets during the principals absence is essential.

SALARY in the region of £70-80,000 Gross per annum depending on experience. Separate
1 bedroom furnished flat all new and beautiful, with private garden, off-street parking and superfast broadband, 8 mins drive away.
The working week will be primarily Monday to Friday with 2 days off per week, but with flexibility for occasional weekend working. Both must drive.
